Puppet

Here is a script for the story.  I ad lib a little since I walk around with the puppet but this will give you the flavor.
One day in the eucalyptus tree
Inspired by One Day in the Eucalyptus, Eucalyptus Tree by Daniel Bernstrom
characters - Snake , Boy, Bird, Cat , Sloth , Ape, Bees , fruit

One day in the leaves of a eucalyptus tree hung a snake
When along skipped a boy
Down slid the snake from the leaves of the tree and gobbled up the boy
Do you think that there’s room for something yummy with you inside my tummy?
Bet you will, I bet you’d like to fill your tummy with a bite.
Cheep cheep came the chirp of a bird chasing a worm. The snake gobbled them up.
Do you think that there’s room for something yummy with you inside my tummy?
Bet you will, I bet you’d like to fill your tummy with a bite.
Purr purr came from a cat in a nap. The snake gobbled them up.
Do you think that there’s room for something yummy with you inside my tummy?
Bet you will, I bet you’d like to fill your tummy with a bite.
Rustle rustle came from a sloth eating leaves. The snake gobbled them up.
Do you think that there’s room for something yummy with you inside my tummy?
Bet you will, I bet you’d like to fill your tummy with a bite.
Burp burp came from an ape eating grapes.  The snake gobbled them up.
Do you think that there’s room for something yummy with you inside my tummy?
Bet you will, I bet you’d like to fill your tummy with a bite.
Scratch scratch came from a bear itching on a tree.  The snake gobbled them up.
Do you think that there’s room for something yummy with you inside my tummy?
Bet you will, I bet you’d like to fill your tummy with a bite.
Buzz buzz came from a hive of happy bees.  The snake gobbled them up.
Bet you will, I bet you’d like to full your tummy with a bite.
No, Something small
A small piece of fruit swung in the breeze
His tummy rumble, up came an  enormous burp. (all the animals)
Oh I’ve got a crummy tummy ache.

Rhyme
This is based off Sss Sss Went the Slippery Snake (+ 4 more verses): Storytime Song by Jbrary. I edited the lyrics so the whole song was about reptiles.
Sss, ssss went the slippery snake one day
Sss, ssss went the slippery snake
Sss, ssss went the slippery snake one day
And they all went sss, sss, sss
But... we know snakes go (clap) shoe-be-do-be-do
(clap) shoe-be-do-be-do, (clap) shoe-be-do-be-do
We know snakes go (clap) shoe-be-do-be-do
They don't go sss, sss, sss

Snap snap went the agile alligator one day
Snap snap went the agile alligator
Snap snap went the agile alligator one day
And they all went snap snap snap
But... we know alligators go (clap) shoe-be-do-be-do
(clap) shoe-be-do-be-do, (clap) shoe-be-do-be-do
We know alligators go (clap) shoe-be-do-be-do
They don't go snap snap snap

Chirp chirp went the groovy gecko one day
Chirp chirp went the groovy gecko
Chirp chirp went the groovy gecko one day

And they all went chirp chirp chirp
But... we know geckos go (clap) shoe-be-do-be-do
(clap) shoe-be-do-be-do, (clap) shoe-be-do-be-do
We know geckos go (clap) shoe-be-do-be-do
They don't go chirp chirp chirp

Egg Shakers
Bread and Butter Storytime Chant from Jbrary's Just Add Rhythm Sticks
I edited the lyrics slightly to work with my egg shakers.

Bread and butter
Marmalade and Jam
Let's tap our sticks as quiet as we can

...loud as we can
...slow as we can
...fast as we can
...high as we can
...low as we can
...nice as we can

This song is from Give Your Storytime a Shake on JBrary.

if you’re happy and you know it give a shake
if you’re happy and you know it give a shake
if you’re happy and you know it give a shake
if you’re happy you know it and you really want to show it
if you’re happy and you it give a shake

clap – tap

Parachute

I'm Being Swallowed by a Boa Constrictor by Shel Silverstein

I'm being swallowed by a boa constrictor
I'm being swallowed by a boa constrictor
I'm being swallowed by a boa constrictor
And I don't like it very much!

Oh no, oh no, he swallowed my toe,
he swallowed my toe

Oh gee, oh gee, he's up to my knee,
he's up to my knee

Oh fiddle, oh fiddle, he's reached my middle,
he's reached my middle

Oh bleck, oh bleck, he's up to my neck,
he's up to my neck

Oh dread, oh dread, he swallowed my.... schlirppp!

The Elevator Song from Jbrary and it's 2nd verse verse about the Ocean
Oh the city is great and the city is grand
There's a whole lot of people
on a little piece of land
And we live way up on the 57th floor
and this is what we do when we go out the door.
We take the elevator up and the elevator down,
take the elevator up, take the elevator down
Take the elevator up and the elevator down
and we turn around.

Oh the ocean is great and the ocean is grand.
There are lots of tall ships and very little land.
And we sleep down deep in a hammock near the floor
And this is what we do when we go out the door:
We ride the waves going up, we ride the waves going down
We ride the waves going up, we ride the waves going down
We ride the waves going up, we ride the waves going down
And we turn around.

Slow and Fast by Hap Palmer for Rhythms on Parade  - we had to do this twice.

To end I had the parents hold the parachute with the children standing underneath.  We raised the parachute up high and then brought it down so that it filled with air and made a tent.  As we sat inside the bubble we sang our goodbye song.

Closing
We Clap Our Hands Like This - Tune Farmer in the Dell. Borrowed from Opening/Closing Songs on Storytime Katie who borrowed it from Rhymes for Toddlers on Sunflower Storytime.

We clap our hands like this

We clap out hands like this
We clap our hands with all of our friends
We clap our hands like this.

We blow a kiss like this

We blow a kiss like this
We blow a kiss with all of our friends
We blow a kiss like this.

We wave goodbye like this.
We wave goodbye like this.
We wave goodbye with all our friends.
We wave goodbye like this.

Craft
We made a mixed up chameleon spinner based on some leftover crafts from a previous year. You need two paper plates per child as well as crayons and brass fasteners.  You get the cut out all the chameleons so you need scissors. Just cut out a chameleon from half the plates. Let the kids colors on the uncut plates.  Then using the brass fastener attache the cut plate on top of the colored plate by poking a hole in the middle of both.

I repeated this program with a group where I expected a lot more kids so I also did a basic spotted snake craft using our Ellison Die cut spiral.
