From Shapes! Storytime by Storytime Katie this action Song/Fingerplay: “Where Is…?” (Tune: Where Is Thumbkin?) - Credit: KidsSoup.  I had precut four shapes, each from a different color paper.  The parents helped me pass out the shapes and we used them for the next two songs.

Where is triangle? Where is triangle?
Here I am. Here I am.
How are you today, sir? Very well, I thank you.
Run away. Run away.
(Circle, rectangle, square, diamond)

From CarolSimonLevin -- Program Palooza her post  Pre-School Storytime: Shape Up! she has this great action shape song.  Here are the full lyrics though we only did four of the shapes.

Put your square shapes in the air, in the air 2x
Hold it up and keep it high up there.
Put your square shapes in the air, in the air

2.Put your triangle shape on your back, on your back …Now lay it on your lap….
3.Hold your rectangle in your hand, in your hand …Now everyone please stand …
4.Put your circle on your toes, on your toes …Now hold it by your nose. …
5.Wave your diamond at the door …Now touch your diamond to the floor …
6.Put your pentagon on your ear…Now give a great big cheer…
7.Hold your star to the ground …Now everyone sit down

Film

The Shape Song Swingalong written and sung by SteveSongs - The book comes with a cd so you can listen to the song alone or watch an animated version of the story set to music.  It was a  very catchy tune.  I did have some technical issues when I realized the disc does not play in a blu-ray and I had to fetch my laptop instead.

Closing
We Clap Our Hands Like This - Tune Farmer in the Dell. Borrowed from Opening/Closing Songs on Storytime Katie who borrowed it from Rhymes for Toddlers on Sunflower Storytime.

We clap our hands like this
We clap out hands like this
We clap our hands with all of our friends
We clap our hands like this.

We blow a kiss like this
We blow a kiss like this
We blow a kiss with all of our friends
We blow a kiss like this.

We wave goodbye like this.
We wave goodbye like this.
We wave goodbye to all our friends
We wave goodbye like this.

Craft
I had several rolls of newsprint and the children still had their shapes from singing earlier.  I rolled the paper across the floor in many long pieces.  Then we lay on the floor with our shapes and our markers to trace.  After we traced the shapes we also traced our hands and feet.
