Felt
Five Little Owls - The art is inspired by What a Hoot (Owls) by Sunflower Storytime and the rhyme is from Upper Hudson Library System's program, Owl Storytime - Who Hoots?

5 little owls on a dark, dark night.
5 little owls are quite a sight. 5 little owls!
Are you keeping score?
1 flies away and that leaves 4
4 little owls as happy as can be
1 flew away and that leaves 3
3 little owls calling, “Who, who, who.”
1 flies away and that leaves 2
2 little owls having lots of fun
1 flew away and that leaves 1
1 little owl and we’re almost done,
He flies away and that leaves none (zero).

There's Something in the Nighttime (Modified from There’s something in my garden) - Inspired by Night Creatures Storytime by SLC Book Boy.

There’s something in the nighttime
that I can’t really see.
There’s something in the nighttime,
now what can it be?
Whoo, Whoo
Hear it’s funny sound?
Whoo, Whoo
An Owl is what I found!

(Continue with a cat, a bat, and a skunk.)

Sniff sniff
Smell that funny smell?
Sniff, sniff, A skunk!
 You sure can tell!

Closing
We Clap Our Hands Like This - Tune Farmer in the Dell. Borrowed from Opening/Closing Songs on Storytime Katie who borrowed it from Rhymes for Toddlers on Sunflower Storytime.

We clap our hands like this
We clap out hands like this
We clap our hands with all of our friends
We clap our hands like this.

We blow a kiss like this
We blow a kiss like this
We blow a kiss with all of our friends
We blow a kiss like this.

We wave goodbye like this.
We wave goodbye like this.
We wave goodbye with all our friends.
We wave goodbye like this.

Craft
To make today's cute owl the children had two choices.  You need to trace your hands to make the owl's wings so some children traced their grownups' hands and some children wanted their grownup to trace their own hands.  Either way is fun and has a charming result.  I cut out some a simple shape as the owl bodies and then let the children add other details they liked with crayon.
