Bumpin' up and down in my little space shuttle
Bumpin' up and down in my little space shuttle,
Bumpin' up and down in my little space shuttle,
Won't you go to the moon with me?
Verses: My space suit's on and my boots are, too...
We step on the moon and bounce up and down...

Zoom, Zoom, Zoom: Storytime Song by Jbrary

Zoom, Zoom, Zoom.
Zoom, Zoom, Zoom
(rub hands together, back and forth while pointing them up in the air)
We’re going to the moon.
Zoom, Zoom, Zoom
We’re going to the moon.
If you want to take a trip,
Climb aboard my rocket ship.
Zoom, Zoom, Zoom
We’re going to the moon.
5, 4, 3, 2, 1, (hold 5 fingers up and count down)

Blast off!

Far, far, far, we're going to the stars
Fun, fun, fun we're going to the sun....

Rhythm Sticks
Tapping On My Sticks by Kathy Reid-Naiman for I Love to Hear the Sounds

Using the tune from I Have a Little Hammer by Kathy Reid-Naiman for I Love to Hear the Sounds I made a new song for us to practice colors with our rhythm sticks.

I have blue sticks and I tap tap tap
tap tap tap tap this way
I have blue sticks and I tap tap tap all day

Since I only had a few children in class I let each child decide what color they wanted to sing about.

Felt
5 little stars felt

Five little stars were shining in the night
5 little stars were quite a sight
But one little star shining in the sky
Got real sleepy, so he said goodbye

No little stars are shining in the night
No little stars were quite a sight
With no little stars shining in the sky
It’s time for the sun come say hi

Closing

We Clap Our Hands Like This - Tune Farmer in the Dell. Borrowed from Opening/Closing Songs on Storytime Katie who borrowed it from Rhymes for Toddlers on Sunflower Storytime.

We clap our hands like this
We clap out hands like this
We clap our hands with all of our friends
We clap our hands like this.

We blow a kiss like this
We blow a kiss like this
We blow a kiss with all of our friends
We blow a kiss like this.

We wave goodbye like this.
We wave goodbye like this.
We wave goodbye to all our friends
We wave goodbye like this.

Craft
I always like to do one craft with finger paint.  We have a lot of it in supply and I like to show the parents that their kids might not be as messy as they fear.  Usually I am the messiest person in storytime; I think I had to go wash up at least four times.  For today's craft I made a template of stars that I cut out of construction paper.  I laid the template over the black paper and traced out the stars with a white pencil.  I gave the children blue and yellow finger paint on paper plates and let them dab the paint on the paper with cotton swabs. Some kids made lots of dots, some kids went around the stars to fill the whole page with dots that looked like stars and some made fantastic shooting stars instead.  And no one made a mess.  There is a bathroom nearby for hand washing but I have a container of wet wipes for for friends who left class a bit more colorful than when they started.
